Salem Business Lobbyist Supports Convicted Child Abuser

I couldn’t believe what I read today.

PolitickerOR reported that a prominent Salem business lobbyist, John McCully, said that the recent publicity surrounding Rep. Matt Wingard’s (R-Wilsonville) misdemeanor assault conviction for hitting his young child over the head with a screwdriver *would not* have a major effect on this race.

McCully lobbies on behalf of the powerful Oregon Mortgage Brokers PAC, which gave Wingard a $1,000 contribution.

Wow, Mr. McCully must have completely lost touch with reality if he thinks that Oregonians believe it is OK to support a politician convicted of attacking a 7-year-old with a screwdriver!

I don’t think most donors to the Oregon Mortgage Brokers PAC feel the same way, either!
